Spice Jet

Filling out paperwork to retrieve a laptop PC

The last leg on ‘SpiceJet’ airlines is where some heat was turned up on our team.  First, we went to the wrong terminal.  Next, we had to ‘negotiate’ with the driver who pleaded his case for more fare with the local (armed) soldier.  At this point our early departure from the hotel was beginning to fall apart.  We couldn’t check in our bags due to an overweight condition, which was compounded by not having enough local currency (rupees) to pay for the overages.  By now the clock began to play a role on time departure.

Security was chaotic in Delhi and I’ll spare you from the value add analysis.  After security we jogged through the airport to our departure gate …. And then boarded a bus (obviously) that took us out to our plane.  We had a good flight & when we got to the local airport David noticed that his backpack was ‘lighter’.

In the hurried up offense – which was run a little bit more like defense, David had left his laptop computer in Delhi in the security bin.  Through prayer, faith, phone calls, and a lot of local help from Rahul’s native tongue, David met with the airport authorities and we left the airport without the computer.

Outside of our hotel room -'home' to this man
